Firstly I would like to thanks and congratulate you for making a wise choice to enhance your work area beyond your current geography.

I am not getting into why Canadian immigration is good & how Canada is a land of opportunities and all that Jazz, you would have figured that out if you have landed on this page.

Age (21-34 years) is gold for Canadian Immigration, the younger you are the more score you have.
35-40 Years: Hold your breath there are other silk routes to hit the bulls eye, I am parking the discussions that for the next sections.


WHO AM I .

I am also one like you who once thought and then decided to apply for Canadian Immigration after being wary of the prevailing condition of IT workers in USA and went through the pain of exploring each and every step for Express Entry PR and finally submitting my profile for Express entry.

I wanted to share my ground experience so the others don't have to go through the grind can take a clear aim at target.

WHAT TO DO:

You will find a lot of literature and portals online advising and selling you Canadian immigration.  I would like to highlight that it is as simple as below 3 goals.

1. Get your education credentials validated from WES Canada 
2. Pay, Prepare and Appear (in the order mentioned) for your IELTS exam
3. Fill in your express entry application and wait for the express entry draws

Very Important note:

There is a good chance that you may not hit 430 plus CRS score with the above mentioned steps. There is still a lot of light left at the end of the tunnel. Hold on we will discuss it more in a while.

Calculate your score using http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
for macro level understanding of your tentative score.

Here is a bit more details on the above 3 Goals mentioned.

Goal 1:

Get your education credentials validated from WES Canada

First and foremost, WES issues assessment only if your education institute and degree is present in WES Degree Institutes list and degree equivalency tool.

If you locate your institute/degree in the link then visit the checklist to Understand the documents required for assessment submission

So, before making a move please check for your institute and your education equivalency in Canada.

Follow below steps to accomplish your goal if you found your degree and institute in the link above:

• Create an account on https://www.wes.org/
• Choose your education institute and course from the link and pay for the evaluation.    
• Post you pay your fees you will get a WES reference number and you have already the list of documents required for assessment.

PAIN POINT: Since you are not based out of India or away from your institute location or for any reason unable to visit your institute to procure the required university documents.

REMEDY:  Please visit http://www.mailtranscripts.com/ to have them act on your behalf and deal with your institute and your documents will be mailed to WES without you moving your finger. Of course, you need to move your fingers to make online payment for the service. 
They don't charge you moon, its pretty reasonable.

I have used them for the submission, they are pretty trustworthy and on time submission organization.

 

Believe me this will relieve a truck load of burden off your shoulders and due to elimination of your physical effort and most of the 50-60 % thinking to apply population drops out at this stage.

Goal 2:

Pay, Prepare and Appear (in the order mentioned) for your IELTS exam

I say Pay, Prepare and Appear since ILETS test slots availability at a center near you will wary from 2-4 months. So book early.

Then more importantly till the time you do not have an exam date and you have already thrown some money in the ring you will not start preparing as there is no drive or pain of loss involved in the transaction. 

Before you start I would like to highlight is not get overwhelmed by word TEST, its as easy as watching TV for you if you have studied 12-16 years of your life. So leave the fear in trash and move ahead.
Believe me you can do it just by thinking.


How much time you need to prepare:

An average guy needs only 2 weeks of dedicated time (3 hours a day) to score the highest band combination (8 Listening and rest 7).

Oh my God how do I prepare, there is so much to study: NO

Do not wrap around your head on all and everything you read on google.

I prepared via this channel only and and have scored high in ILETS. So videos on this channel are free.

So ILETS preparation becomes free.

NOTE: IELTS score has a validity of 2 years.

Goal 3:

Fill in your express entry application and wait for the express entry draws

The last goal is to create you Express entry profile.Here is the Link to do so.

 You can add your blood relative in Canada (Sister, Brother), you can get additional points.

So, if you are good with the score (430-450 range) you can go ahead and apply. 
Lowest score has been 413 and it is expected to go further lower now.

Profile once created is valid for 1 year and post that it expires or is not considered in express entry draws. So, you need to create your profile again for it to be relevant for the draw.

You can always update your profile (for changes like improvement in IELTS score or adding spouse score or change in marital status or to add more educational credentials) in between and can also withdraw it in case you are not interested any more in PR. 

So best of luck if you have crossed over the finish line.



MOST IMPORTANT PART:

Oh my God !! even after all my efforts I am falling short, What do I do?
  I wish I would have been much younger, My English language strike rate in IELTS would have been like Prince Harry and Williams.

Its ok to feel like that as you have not achieved what you wanted.

Now is it this the end of road for you: NO WAY
Can I still stand a chance: MOST CERTAINLY.

(Even after you have done your best to achieve the highest score in all quadrants you still stare at a score of 400 or even like 300-350 with all the effort you can do)
